The University of Antwerp is the third-largest university in Flanders. With the merger of UFSIA, RUCA, and UIA in 2003, the new organization needed a fresh brand that embodied the essence of all three institutions and built upon the positive associations of the city of Antwerp.

The operation took off with the creation of a new brand story inspired by the University next to the Stream: the famous Scheldt river, symbolizing a continuous stream of knowledge and diversity for which Antwerp was known. We translated this into a distinctive visual identity and managed the roll-out to all touchpoints, from web and print to signage systems. We also helped them redefine and structure the complex brand architecture of all faculties, research bodies, and other entities with unity in diversity as the central idea.
