Our lives are increasingly connected through networks and filled with immaterial things. Along with this emerged a whole new services industry - based on completely new business models - catering for new demands. These services are as important as the devices and their interfaces through which we access them: computer, PDA, mobile, touchscreen and the lot. A successful user experience depends on both the architecture of the service itself and how we interact with it through various devices. That is where designers can play an important role in establishing a compelling dialogue between applications, products and the user.
