TECHWIN Software (TECHnology for WINdows) develops and commercialises professional software solutions for the industrial production of doors, window frames, porches and similar, in a variety of materials. These essential solutions in automating manufacturing machinery and associated inventory management are based on an extensive manufacturing expertise combined with the most recent software technology.

However, Techwin’s main software application had one weak point: it wasn't very effective in managing the full extent of database information - materials, prices, contact persons, etc. To simplify the entire application, Techwin needed a system which would allow their suppliers to enter data themselves. KAN Design seized this challenge with both hands and helped to devise the Catalog Manager.

A number of exploratory workshops were organised to study the usability of various possible interface routines, analysing the exact way a user would interact with the system to perform particular activities. Based on the findings of these workshops, KAN Design helped develop a logical system, which could be applied in any of the given circumstances. The logic for the Catalog Manager was then perfected towards a user-friendly application, and translated into a clear and consistent graphic user interface featuring an equally clear and consistent set of icons and buttons.
