Adding value to akkanto’s corporate identity

Brussels-based akkanto, formerly European Communication Strategies (CS), is the leading independent communication consultancy on the Belgian market. For both international and Belgian clients, akkanto combines strategic communication advice with high quality and effective implementation in its services, ranging from corporate communication to internal communication, public affairs, brand communication, crisis communication, financial communication and media training.
 
European Communication Strategies (CS) decided to undertake a rebranding exercise (combined with a total refurbishment of the offices) in order to develop a new image that would better reflect its professional services and forward-thinking approach. The company called upon KAN Design to help them find and create a new name and identity that would symbolise their innovative nature and spirit of creativity.
 
The result was the birth of “akkanto” - from the Italian accanto, meaning close, nearby - representing the company as it is, with a devoted, closely-knit team of communication professionals, working side by side with their clients and stakeholders.
 
KAN Design conducted the research on the visual identity of the name, further adapting it for use on stationery and in visual support, using grey and orange tones. The two central k’s in the new logo represent the aspect of closeness. The basic grey colour reflects the company's professionalism and expertise, while the orange highlights represent their proactive and dynamic approach.
